Great Christmas Haul from the Goodwill Outlet

Went to the Goodwill Outlet, where you buy everything by the pound.  I love that, because a lot of vintage Christmas ends up there and not at normal Goodwills.  I think they would gouge prices if it ended up at the normal Goodwill.  Just like they've been doing with Pyrex, etc, that folks are collecting (like me) these days.  I thought they were supposed to be thrift stores... not antique malls.  I guess that's why I really only go to the Goodwill Outlet anymore.

Enough venting, here's what I bought... All available in my new vintage Christmas etsy shop!

I have never seen one quite like this!  And I wasn't even the
one who spotted it.  One of the other regulars (apparently
I am considered one too) found it and gave it to me because
she knew I bought lots of "this kinda stuff."

Some mini Poland ornaments.

Vintage crafting supplies.  Spun heads, glass ornaments,
and mercury glass beads on picks.

Spun head angels.

Beautiful Aqua Shiny Brites.  I'm still debating if I will sell
these... I just love this color!

Angel tree topper.

Vintage glitter and various little ornaments.

Not a bad haul for a Monday night at the Goodwill.  I'm still jealous of Barbara and Laurie's hauls from this past weekend.  They are like once-in-a-lifetime vintage Christmas hauls.

Happy Tuesday!

Lebanon, Indiana Haul

I told a friend of mine recently that I was going to be spending all day in Lebanon, IN.  The general reaction was "Why the heck would you do that?"  (If you're not from around here - Lebanon is a teeny tiny little town with absolutely nothing to brag about.  We have lots of those in Indiana.)  Well, I told my friend "Because I'm going to PART FOUR of a hoarder's living estate auction... and she's almost 100.  She has got to have some good stuff."  I heard rumors of the other parts of the auction, but I never imagined there would still be as much stuff as there was at the final (fourth) part.  And prices were good.  Really good.  Most of the time someone would buy a lot of stuff and only want one thing.  The rest was fair game for us to pick through.  Who doesn't like free stuff?

Here's some of what I bought... and the Christmas stuff is already in my new all Christmas all year Etsy store.  If I took pictures of all of it, we'd be here all night...

This is all the vintage haul.  Bought some stuff for my brother's new place too.  I hope he appreciates his big sister helping him out.  I know he doesn't read this, so don't tell him I paid for most of the stuff I gave him.  I told him it was in the free pile.  Some of it was, so I wasn't really lying... right?

I just scored some more great Christmas stuff from the Goodwill Outlet.  I'll have to show that soon...

Happy Monday!

My New Etsy Shop

So I've been thinking about opening a second etsy shop for awhile.  I finally decided I would devote it to vintage Christmas year round.  It's what I know best, so it makes complete sense.  Also, who doesn't love vintage Christmas stuff?  I know so many of you are out there.

Introducing: Melissa's Retro Christmas

Here's what will be debuting on my shop opening...

Treasure Hunt

Saturday afternoon I went to an event at the Indiana Landmark Society called Treasure Hunt.  It was a little vintage and antiques show... and I thought I'd show you a little of what I saw... and bought.

And here is what I bought... a whole box of figural West Germany ornaments...
