A Week in Review

It has been quite the busy week for me!  I had a midterm in one of my MBA classes and started a new one in the same night.  On top of that, I am trying to find time to get my thrifting in, oh yeah, and a semblance of a social life.

Wednesday on the way home from work, I stopped at one of my usual thrifts.  They finally brought the Christmas goodies out.  If you follow my Facebook page, you've already seen these.

I went to Bloomington, Indiana for an auction on Saturday.  It's the home of my (undergrad) alma mater.  Go Hoosiers!  I love visiting this town.  I miss it from time to time.  The auction was just down the street from where I lived my final semesters at IU.  After the auction I stopped in one of my favorite antique stores.  I saw (and bought) some great stuff.  The photo below is of a Fire King Jadeite tulip pattern bowl.  I have NEVER seen one of these in person.  I always assumed they were an urban legend.  Great piece!

Here's what I brought home from the auction and the Bloomington Antique Mall.

I thought this advertising mailbox was pretty cool!

This green depression batter bowl is huge!

Couldn't believe I was able to get 2 of these jadeite batter
bowls.  The pink HA plates were from the antique mall.

All from the antique mall except the cookie cutters.

These are adorable, but could get annoying rather quick
if they end up in the wrong hands.

Sometimes you have to pay up for pretty linens.  2 of the
Christmas tablecloths have already been claimed.

Today (Sunday) I knew I had to make my way to the booth.  I needed to bring more Christmas stuff.  I also had to fill in lots of empty spaces in my booth.  YAY!  I spent a few hours rearranging and pricing new goodies.  During this time tornadoes were hitting all around Indiana.  The sirens went off about 6 times while I was there working.  We got lucky and weren't touched.  I can't say the same for other surrounding cities.  I hope everyone is okay that was affected by the tornadoes today.

Please take a small tour through my space.  I'm loving it more and more each week!

This brings us to this evening.  On my way home from the antique mall I had a hunch to stop into a particular Goodwill store.  I love when my hunches are right.

Pink Texasware bowl, pink/red enamel bowl, FK lustreware
bowl, 3 orange/yellow FK mugs, cute pitcher, and a full set
of Pyrex homestead bowls.

What did you guys buy this weekend?

  6. I can't believe you got two of those Jadeite batter bowls. I bought one at an antique mall a couple of years ago for $13. I will always remember the price because it was so awesome!

I really need to head to your area and go to some of the amazing auctions with you. Then, we could stop by your booth so I can buy everything in it!!
