Holiday Weekend

Hey guys!  Happy Tuesday!  Hope all of you that had a long weekend enjoyed it.  I didn't do any junkin this weekend at all.  However, I was tempted many times.

Saturday morning the bf and I drove up to Chicago, as 2 of his college friends were getting married late Saturday afternoon.  They had a wonderful wedding and reception.  I took no pics - I was having such a good time.

Sunday morning we woke up early to leave Chicago for Southern Indiana to go to a Memorial Day/Birthday party on the bf's side.  We were not even a minute from the hotel and I spy a Swap Meet sign, just before the entrance to the interstate.  I resisted, knowing we had a almost 5 hour drive ahead of us.  Once we got off the major interstate and onto the highway, I started to see several garage sales, but nothing too appealing, so I didn't make the bf stop.

We had a wonderful cookout at his family's place.  We went for a walk to enjoy the scenery, because we just don't get that in Indianapolis.

Just one of the many beautiful, house-less views we encountered.

I also got the bf's mom's horse in on a couple of photos.  He came out from his woods to greet us just before we left for our 2 1/2 hour drive home.  You would never know that Chance is almost 26 years old!  I have to live vicariously through the bf's mom until I have a horse of my own.

Yesterday I went to take a few more items out of my booth for the upcoming Woodruff Place Flea Market on June 7-8.  As a reminder I will be set up at: 937 Woodruff Place East Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46201.  On Saturday the hours are 8:00AM - 5:00PM and Sunday from 10:00AM - 5:00PM.  Get there early Saturday if you're coming.  This even is rain or shine.  Last year it poured Saturday and I still had crazy big crowds pretty much all day.

I'm taking a 3 day weekend this weekend to spend with my mom and her sis.  We are going to tackle as much of the US 40/Historic National Road Yard Sale as we can.  It is a little over 800 miles and stretches from St. Louis to Baltimore.  We are going to start in Indianapolis and head west on Friday and get as far as we can by late afternoon.  On Saturday we will again start in Indianapolis, but we will head east and get as far as we can.  If we're still craving more junk, we will stay wherever we are Saturday night and keep junkin' East on Sunday.  I've been looking forward to this for months and I can't believe we're only a few days away now!

I will still have Thrifty Things Friday on Friday, but it will be set as a scheduled post.  I will not be able to edit any errors - so I hope all runs smoothly.  I received all your comments about the last link up.  I know there were some issues with the the link up too not finding your "link back" to my site.  I think I have that fixed - but if not - submit anyway!  I will have my phone on me and be able to approve links via the email that the link up tool sends me.

I hope you all have a great week!
Melissa

  1. What beautiful country! It is a nice change from city living. Most of my neighbors have horses, or cows, or goats. :)

  2. Have too much fun the next 2 weekends! Best of luck to you hunting, gathering & selling. After 30+ years of shopping vintage & what I inherited from parents, my house is saturated. I live thru your & other bloggers' finds.

  3. It sounds like you had a perfect holiday weekend even though you didn't get to buy any junk. Lol! Have a super fun time this coming weekend and I can't wait to see what you find. I am jealous we don't have anything like that here. Good luck and hope you fill your car to the brim. Hugs, Dianne
