My Short Nashville Weekend

The bf (fiancee - still feel weird saying that!) and I went to Nashville for the weekend.  It was his birthday present, because I bought us tickets to the Green Bay vs. Titans preseason game.  We have both been huge GB fans our whole lives.  We had awesome seats.  Too bad it poured down rain the whole game.  We were soaked from head to toe... but a memory we won't forget soon.

This is the quick shot I got of our seats when the rain quit for a few minutes.

A cool old sign from a liquor store in Nashville.  Love, love, love old signs like this.

So, you didn't think I'd go to Nashville and not bring home some vintage goodies, did you?  I picked up this shelving unit from the Downtown Antique Mall.  It was an absolute steal.  I think I'll ask my dad to recreate this with reclaimed wood and some corrugated tin from the barn we bought.

These pretty McCoy + other planters, 45 racks, and this Beatles 45 were from an estate sale we stopped at in Clarksville on our way to Nashville.  The estate sale had lots of awesome mid-century furniture, but it was all gone by the time we got there at 10.  I was happy to walk away with all of these McCoy planters to add to my collection.  There are some duplicates here, so they will head to booth.

That's it!  I'm looking forward to some awesome looking auctions this coming weekend.  Is it sad I'm already looking forward to this next weekend?  Have an awesome week!

  1. Sorry your game was rained on, but proud that you got all those McCoy planters! Love the shelving unit!

  2. I love the colors of the pottery. I rarely pass it up if it's a good deal.

Glad you had fun! Hope you stopped at that liquor store :-)

  3. Love the pottery and I want to put corrugated tin on the back of a shelf now! That is awesome.

  4. The 45 rack is gorgeous! Your McCoy planter picture isn't showing up though.

  5. You always find the best stuff! I love that shelf and the pretty planters. Thanks so much for sharing at the Vintage Inspiration Party.

  6. Love what you bought ... vases and shelf are so cute. I have some aluminum that would make a good backing for a shelf ... thanks for the idea.

  7. Love, love the colors of the vases Melissa! So pretty together. The shelf is awesome also. Good idea to recreate more! I'm sure the memory of the game that you got drenched will come up in many conversations in the future. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
