Milestones + CBF Finds + A Giveaway

Today marks not only my THIRD year blogging (has it really been that long?) but also my 200th post.  I didn't plan it that way, either.  So, I figured it was time for a giveaway.  I wanted to include a little something from my 2 favorite holidays.  Below is the prize package.  I'll be giving away two of these!

To enter - just leave me a comment telling me if you like Halloween or Christmas better and why and an email to contact you. For an extra entry - share on a blog post of yours and come back here and leave another comment with the post link.  Oh, and please follow this little ol' blog of mine!  Deadline is this Sunday, October 19th at 11:59PM EST.  Winners will be drawn the next day and contacted by email.

Now, onto my finds from this weekend's Covered Bridge Festival.  If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen a lot of these!

All this Pyrex!  I won't tell you the sob story on how I missed out on the Balloons 444.

I bought someone's entire swanky swig collection.
It never hurts to ask "How much if I buy them all?"
There's 50 here!

Random things including a few holiday finds.
I thought the Tripoley game would display well for Halloween.

All of these are consistent sellers in my booth.
I can't keep signs in stock!

I had a customer asking for typewriters on Friday at the booth.  Glad to find 2.
I think I'll be keeping the locker baskets.  Hard to come by at a good price here.

Need to do more research on him, but apparently he was used as a cooler.
Any blogland friends able to tell me more?

Darn you Thrifter Sisters for getting me into this vintage bedding thing...

How could I pass up 120 vintage fans for a song?!
Again, it never hurts to ask "What if I buy them all?"
I have a vintage wedding project in mind involving the program.

And finally, my costume jewelry finds.
I love the bracelet - it's a 1961 Republican bracelet.
Hence the elephant and GOP charms.

  1. Nice finds, Melissa! I can't keep signs in stock, either, and old gym locker baskets always sell quickly here in Michigan. Thanks for sharing your recent finds with us at Make It Monday!

  2. Congratulations on your blogging milestones! I read it all the time, but don't usually comment. I love Christmas and everything about it - the birth of Jesus, Santa, the colors, time with family - I love it all! Love your finds too! Can't wait to see what you do with the fans.

  5. You find the best stuff! Wow-three years..Congratulations!! It's so hard to choose between Halloween and Christmas. Halloween-you get to dress up and eat candy. I get to pull out all my spooky decorations and it finally starts to feel like fall here. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on TV. Big and little kids pretending to be someone else, jack-o-lanterns, just a night of fun. Christmas-I get to let my inner magpie out and pull out all my blown glass ornaments. I get to bake tons of goodies, buy presents for the ones I love, and enjoy the Christmas lights at night. Christmas music is playing everywhere and people are nicer to each other. Santa is checking his list and kids are trying very hard to be good. Tons of Christmas movies, hot cocoa, and warm blankets. Watching the kids open presents. Remembering the reason for the season.
I have a collection of church fans going too, but I have mine because lately I've been perpetually hot and it is handy to keep in my purse so I don't spontaneously combust into flames.

  6. Congrats on the milestone. Christmas or Halloween huh? Christmas. Hands down, but Halloween is right on its heals. Love the smell of a fresh cut tree and all the presents buying..plus having family together. Love the crazy swanky swig score...wow!

p.s. I have seen the Santa before and always was under the assumption he was an ice bucket...styrofoam right?

  13. I use those Hazel Atlas salt shakers every day! I can't believe you found all that Pyrex in one day - I haven't seen that much thrifting in a year total.

Christmas is my favorite because it is almost three months long worth of decorating and anticipation! slayerettes@hotmail. com

  14. Congrats Melissa! Love seeing what you are up to on Instagram. Still may be interested in the green S&P shakers if you sell them. I do love Halloween, but there's nothing like the spirit Christmas brings into the home so it is the winner for me!
