Back in Action

I got The Beast back on Friday evening after her extended spa weekend.  It ended up being more like a couple of weeks, but at least I got her back.  There were a few cosmetic things (rust spots) I dealt with by adding a little bling (c/o of Junk Gypsies).

I took her middle seats out to give me more space.  Here I am relaxing in the back seat/bed.  It really is a ton more space than it looks like.  I vacuumed all the carpet and I realized how much I hate carpet.  So, I started to peel it back up on the front passenger side to see what I have to work with.  It has a layer of padding under the carpet, then goes down to the metal (like a cargo van).  So, I'm thinking about taking the seats out, unscrewing the side panels, and taking all the carpet out.  I want something that's not going to trap all the dirt.  I'd prefer to not have to vacuum after each junking trip.  Sweeping it out with a broom would be a lot easier.  Any ideas, friends?

Well, I put about 100 miles on her Saturday and she decided to go ahead and check back into the spa this morning.  Just a small, quick little free trip, thanks to the fat stack of cash I laid down for her to spend 2 weeks there.  I'll have her back in a couple days.

So, due to her extended (& expensive!) trip - I designed these amazing tank tops.  They WILL NOT cost you a penny more, but I DO get a small portion of each tank top that sells.  The funds will help pay the spa bill.  I need to sell at least 10 of them so that the company will print.

Please share/spread the word as much as possible.  I would appreciate it so much!

Okay, so since The Beast decided she wanted to go back to the spa after only one day, I had to load my finds into my truck.  So, instead of a van shot, you'll get a trunk shot of my finds...

The small furniture pieces are from a couple weeks ago when I decided to do some spring cleaning instead of going to an auction... then a junkin' buddy ended up buying me stuff!  The midcentury metal shelf is from last weekend.

Anyways, enough with all the chitchat... let's get on to my finds!

10 Dorothy Thorpe "roly poly" glasses.
2 green depression bud vases.
Glass hat and Fostoria milk glass dish.
3 pairs of vintage glasses.
Elks lodge plate.

I bought a TON of awesome bottles on Saturday.  I really needed bottles for my booth.  I can't keep them in stock once I put them out.

One of my favorites: Indianapolis Brewing bottle.  Probably won't last long!

Another favorite: Property of Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee.

 Another Miller bottle.

More bottles.

And more...

Lots of ink wells and 2 cool boxes.

More bottles!

 And the last of them.

I'll be keeping the green depression bottom s&p shakers.

Very old basket, 4 ice block tongs, and a rolling pin.

 Ford wrenches.

Door hardware and receipt holders.

Some Pyrex bowls and an enamel bowl.

 2 Aladdin lamps.

A few old barn lanterns.

A wood plane and a wood Kraft cheese box.

Some random frames that are in desperate need of a makeover.

That's all for this week.  Have a great week!

  1. Glad you got the beast back! You know, they make heavy plastic truck bed liners so maybe they do for vans. Ask dealership.

  2. The Beast seems to be taking after my Blazer which is still in the shop. I am lost without her. You hit the jackpot with all those bottles - they are big sellers here also. Love the ice tongs and lanterns. Hope you get enough tees sold - I am eagerly awaiting mine!

  5. Wow, Melissa, you haven't slowed down at ALL, IMO, through winter. Your Beast just means that much more haul with every trip, and when you haul, you haul in crazy multiples! I've not seen anything like you (YOU'RE the real Beast!). Your booth looks great too. I know how hard it is to just move stuff and still try to pack in even more - you did a great job. It's open season now! Btw, I saw some van bed liners on realtruck.com website as just one example.
