It Was Worth It! (Part 1)

Hey all, hope you're all having a good week.  I've been "weather drunk" and haven't really gotten around to taking pictures.  It's been in the 80s here all week.  We broke several high temperature records set back in the late 1800s.  Please disregard the dirt, grim, dust, etc in the pictures.

LOVE this chippy blue shelf.  It's going to
get a new paint color.

Top: 3 McCoy planters, 3 mini oil lamps
Bottom: 2 Pyrex canisters, 2 Pyrex spring blossom
casseroles with lids. 2 Fire King custard dishes,

Pyrex casserole, yellow Pyrex divided casserole, a turquoise
Pyrex large fridgie, and a daisy casserole lid

Now onto the preview for the post about the rest of the stuff I bought at the auction this past weekend.  It is all Christmas and it's all mine!  What makes it even better, is that I sold several pieces out of the boxes and made back a ton of my money that I spent.  I'll post better pictures soon.  Maybe this weekend... only if the weather sucks!  Sorry about the horrible garage pictures...

Shiny Brites, Gurley candles, old Santas...

you don't even know what's hiding under there... but I do... :)

There is so much good stuff under the top layer there too!

Oh yeah, I bought another picnic basket.

And that box full of old veterinary medicine bottles.
The Snake Bite Kit is probably the coolest.
Just one more thing...

(Sorry, it's my alma mater...)

is it worth it?

So the weather is officially amazing here.  Got up to 72 today.  I ran a quick 5K after my day job and then ran to the Goodwill outlet.  I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I go there frequently because it's 5 minutes from my house and only 3 minutes from the park I run at.  Anyways, I didn't have time to take pictures, but will soon.

I wanted to see if you guys out in blogland would drive 3 hours for an auction?  There are absolutely no worthwhile auctions or estate sales this weekend that are even remotely close.  So, I'm packing up my truck and dragging along my mom.  We are going to go stay at her sister's (my aunt's) house, which is about an hour from the auction site, the night before.  I will drag my aunt along too, because she has several booths in several antique malls, and she always needs to stock up.  I think even though gas is $4 a gallon, the fact that I get to see and spend time with family, it makes it worth it.  So here's a link to the auction.

I'm gonna show you some of the things I'm lusting after...

vintage wood advertising boxes/crates
this green enamel top table would be AMAZING
in my green kitchen.
As if I don't have a house full of these already.

But, they sell really well.
I'd like just one of these to put on top of my dresser.
Trunks, anyone?
And in green too.
There are some great looking ones there.
As if  I need more, as I have a garage full
waiting to be refinished.
Not quite sure what this is... but I want it.
Old medicine bottles
I hope no one else wants to buy Christmas in March...
There are plenty of other amazing things that I didn't show you, but my eyes are getting heavy.

Good Night!

I spent less than $10 on all of this...

First, I want to show you some Spring Blossom bowls I traded for a Desert Dawn piece with Jill.  For some reason I've had a lot of trouble finding this pattern in my area, and it's the only one I collect, so thanks a ton for sending these my way!!

I made my usual round at the thrift stores today.  Still no good auctions or estate sales yet, but the warm weather is starting to hit our area.  Upper 60s and low 70s next week.  And to think... a week ago we had flurries in the air.  Hopefully the warm weather will bring in the good sales, because I'm ready for them to start!  I'm sure I'm not alone.

Okay, so hard to imagine that I spent less than $10 on all of this.  All purchases were deals of the day!  I love that the Goodwill outlet sells things by the pound.  Faith continuously restored in that place.

Anyone else get some good deals this weekend?
