Finding New Places to Shop

I have driven past this place for years and never bothered to stop.  I always assumed it was a furniture store, as it says in the name.  But, lately I have been in the market for smaller pieces of furniture to refinish, as that seems to be what are the big hits at shows, flea markets, etc.  So, I stopped on a whim.  **Note, I will not be referring to a name, as I have not asked the owners if I could write about their store.

The owners were both outside working, greeted me with a friendly hello, and chatted with me about what I was looking for.  When I walked inside to take a look, I never thought I'd find what I found.  They had a warehouse full of furniture, but also every other thing imaginable.  Every thrift store I've ever been in has nothing on them.  And that is what I would call this place - a thrift store.  I saw so many things I wanted to get to and look at, but this place is packed.  There are lots of little trails through the warehouse to get to other parts of the warehouse

I didn't have a lot of time to look, so browsed through all of it as quickly as I could.  That still took almost an hour.  Here's what I got for my time (and mind you, there is something in EVERY nook and cranny)...

So this Royal typewriter I found is similar to one I bought in a now closed (sad face!) antique mall in Vincennes, IN.

Okay, so it's not a lot.  But, I'm anxious to go back.  I gave the owners my business card and number, and they now know what to keep an eye out for.

So, lesson learned.
