Memorial Day Weekend Finds

Hope everyone had a good (holiday) weekend! Mine was spent not doing a whole lot and it felt good.  Just what I needed.

Saturday I went to an auction at a house that hadn't been lived in for 34 years and the executor of the estate was just getting around to taking care of it.  The house, the car, the contents.  It was pretty interesting -- the fact that none of the contents had been out of the house in 34 years.  Some of it SO much longer.  I came away with a few things.  I couldn't stay long, as I was attended a night-before-the-race party, because I live in the city where the "greatest spectacle in racing" occurs every year - the Indy 500.

Here's what I got:

I also got a granite coffee pot, but I forgot to take a photo.

Sunday was a lazy day.  All I literally did was watch the entire 4th season of Arrested Development with my boyfriend.  You need days like this sometimes.

Memorial Day is always my annual day where I go to the store and buy all my flowers.  I, of course, had to stop by a few thrift shops on the way to the garden center...

Some Pyrex restaurant ware (I left so many other overpriced pieces behind!), a Lefton September birthday angel, green depression plates, a McCoy planter for my never ending collection, and a Napcoware figurine.

I absolutely love this child's table and chairs.  AND... AND... someone actually reupholstered the chairs and table prior to donating it... It looks really good!

Friendly reminder... I am a vendor this coming Saturday and Sunday at the 38th Annual Woodruff Place Flea Market!  Will not be able to give my exact location at the event until a day or so prior, unfortunately, but if you're local, you know where to find it!  Hope to see you there!

  1. Man, the dust in that place must have been thick, sounds like fun! You seem to go to a lot of auctions. I'm super intimidated by them, any advice for an auction newbie?
The children's table and chair are AWESOME! I see them sometimes, but they are so gross and rusted from being outside that I don't even try.

Thank you for taking the time to comment! It is always welcomed and appreciated!
