Booth Update

Went to update my booth today.  The mall owner gave me more space for free because of the stolen item I had this month.  So, I brought in more stuff, and I hope no one steals any of it.  I am going to give it until the end of the month and if I'm still not happy, I'm going to pull my stuff.  It has been a lot of work for not a lot of gain (especially this month).  If I do pull my stuff, I'll be holding off until January to go into a new space.  In the mean time I'll be researching a new space.  I have lots of friends in lots of malls around the Indianapolis and surrounding areas, so they have all been trying to convince me why their mall is the best.

Anyways, here's my improved booth space.

There she is.  I really like it.  I hope the sales pick up this month.  It is the covered bridge festival month and my mall is on the garage sale route for it.  I think it will help.

A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

When life gives you lemons, use them to make lemonade.  In my case... add vodka.  Life is hectic and frustrating right now.  I want to be able to share everything with you that I've bought lately, but I just can't do it all anymore.  Sorry guys.

Let me show you what I got today.  And then I'll show some of my good pics of stuff I've listed lately (that you guys haven't see yet.

Up for today:

Here's some things I've listed lately on ebay and etsy...

Happy Saturday.  Enjoy the weekend!

Sunday's Auction Goodies

This weekend was busy, busy, busy!  Saturday I went to class for 4 hours in the morning.  Afterwards I went to freshen up my antique booth.  I didn't take any pictures, because I was way too frustrated.  I had a pair of large Hazel Atlas milk glass salt and pepper shakers with red bands (you can see them in this post in the cabinet with the glass doors) STOLEN from my booth!  I reported this to the manager of the mall.  They are supposedly having someone check all of the booths and other booth's sale tickets, to make sure they didn't end up on their sale list instead of mine.  I am so frustrated because I was told that theft was NOT a problem at all.  They have 5+ people always walking every part of the store and they have cameras everywhere.  Has this happened to you?  How do you deal with shoplifters?  Any advice on the matter, would be great.  I'm just so frustrated and extremely disappointed with the situation.  It is really making me rethink the mall I chose for my space.

I cooled off and went straight to Indy's Irish Fest - aka Half Way to St. Patty's Day  with the bf!  We drank several mugs of Guiness and ate some delicious fish and chips from one of the local Irish restaurants.  That really helped me get over the loss of my beautiful S&P shakers.

My mom attended an auction Saturday with her sister and supposedely spent a good portion of my money - so I can't wait to see what she bought for me!  She's coming over this evening - so I hope to share it with you this week.

Sunday I drove about an hour to a HUGE auction in Tipton, Indiana.  I was there for about 7 hours total.  I came away with some good stuff... (and pardon my crappy cell phone pics - I need a new digital camera - you can even see my finger in one!)

Candy jar, Pyrex Butterprint, awesome blue floral swanky swigs.

Awsome set of dishes (Japan), Homestead
Pyrex dish, and Early American Pyrex dish.

3 Fire King bowls, and largest Butterprint bowl.  I'm gonna have
to keep it for myself, it has a couple chips on the rim.  Darn!

Green depression sorbert cup, 4 mini orange glasses, 6 ruby red
swanky swigs, pink band Pyrex sugar bowl, 4 green/black Fire
King bowls.

Lot of medicine bottles.

Quart and pint Lightening jars.

Half gallon and quart Tight Seal jars.

Quart cross Mason's Improved with
glass cross lid and cross Mason's
improved Nov. 30th 1858 jars.

Half gallon and quart Root Mason jars.

Ball Mason's patent Nov 30th 1858
half gallon and Mason's patent Nov
30th 1858 quart.

Half gallon Ball Ideal, and S Mason's
patent 1858.

2 crazy quilt tops.  One on the left is round.

A load of vintage linens and penant.

Cute tin tea set, lard adv. tin, camel s&p, 2 cameras,
and transistor radio.

Thanks for checking out my finds from this weekend (and listening to my rant).  Check back in soon to see what my mom bought!

Half Price Saturday!

I had a graduate class on Saturday, so I had to forgo going to any auctions, because most were a little bit of a drive to get to, and would've been over by the time I arrived.  It was also half price day at all of the central Indiana Goodwill stores.  Around here, if you don't get to the store within the first hour of it opening, you're not going to get any of the good stuff.  That left me with one option: going to the Goodwill Outlet, who changes around the bins of items for sale every hour.  I was able to tolerate 2 rotations, before I had to call it a day.  A lot of people spend ALL DAY at the outlet on half price Saturday.  I don't know how they do it.  Some of the people are SO PUSHY to get to be the first to dig in the bins.  I usually stand back and let them pick out the newer stuff first, so that I can get to my goodies easier.  There is only a small group of us that actually regularly goes to the Goodwill outlet in search of vintage goodies.

So anyways, I bet you're wondering what I brought home.  If you have been following along on my Facebook page, I posted these Saturday right after I got home.  Anyways, have a look!

Little bit of Christmas.

3 books, a MINT very old coloring book, and vintage target
practice sheets.

2 suitcases and a wire basket for a bike.
I'm thinking the wire basket will get
hung on the wall at my antique booth
to match the 2 I already have.

Vintage Cub fishing pole w/ box.

And the original paperwork.

Vintage Halloween, vintage canteen,
yellow handle mixer, 2 old saws, old
folding ruler, several cookie cutters,
sifter with strawberries, 2 syrup
pourers, 2 milk glass vases, pair of
Pyrex s&p, and 2 vintage bottles.

Awesome picnic basket

And made in Peru, Indiana.
Not too far from me.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my new stuff.  I think several items are headed to the booth.  And if you love vintage Christmas (and other holidays) as much as I do... I'm doing mass listings in my christmas etsy shop: Melissa's Retro Xmas.  Check it out!  Use the code XMAS10 for a 10% discount on anything in the shop!
