Covered Bridge Festival Finds

For me the Covered Bridge Festival marks the beginning of fall every year... even though it technically happens about 3 weeks prior.  I get to drive down tree-lined highways that are usually brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows.  While I don't actually go to the festival itself, because I'm not a fan of battling thousands of people, I do attend all of the garage sales up and down the highways leading into and around the festival towns of Bridgeton, Mansfield, and Rockville, Indiana.  Trust me, those hundred or more sales was enough to keep me busy BOTH Saturday and today (Sunday).  And I definitely didn't even hit them all.

So let's get to the good stuff...

Saturday's finds:

the whole shebang

pretty, pretty Pyrex

milk glass (and plastic) spice shakers & more Pyrex

vintage Halloween goodies...

the haul of vintage Christmas & milk glass vases

Can't pass up a cute milk glass bud vase when they're only a nickel or a dime.

Today's (Sunday's) finds:

the haul

HA creamer/sugar, Hoosier cabinet spice jars, cake carrier,
& a full set FK fridge dishes

It's a toss up for the best valued find... I'd say either the Hoosier cabinet spice jars or the full set of FK fridge dishes.

Foley aqua handle sifter, aqua handle syrup dispenser,
(I BELIEVE) a HA mixing bowl, Owens Illinois shaker,
and the only Pyrex for the day.
DISCLAIMER: I only bought this ugly Early American divided casserole because it was a) cheap and b) I needed the lid for a more desirable divided casserole.  Also, mom bought me the full bowl set last week for a song.  Figured I'd throw it all together.

Sir Walter Raleigh tins, Robin Hood Flour recipe box, a lone
Lustreware shaker, 2 red handle syrup dispensers, 2 FK
2 Pyrex, and Glasbake mugs, pack of santah ead cupcake
toppers, and vintage Valentine's Day cards.

I had to add in another holiday to this weekends finds.

So, all in all, I had an AWESOME weekend full of great finds and quality time with mom.

In other news... I'm headed across the pond in 2 days... Dublin and London, watch out!  Hoping to do a little hunting while I'm there!

Mom's Garage Sale Finds

Last Friday mom went garage sale-ing with her sister, as I mentioned in this post.  I know I teased you with the words: Pyrex, Fire King, and Hazel Atlas.  I told you, even I didn't know all she got.  I know, I told you I didn't know if I had time to photograph it.  Well, good news, my final exam for my Organizational Behavior class was going to be today, but my prof postponed it until I get back from vacation at the end of this month.  Lucky me!  AND lucky you.  I had time to unwrap and take some pictures.

I know you can see some of the tags on them still.  This all mostly came from a barn sale that a woman was having.  She had been an antique dealer for a long time.  Back when some of this stuff wasn't an antique, probably!

I really love the 50 cent nick nack shelf!  Also, the spoon holder as a hankie display was a marvelous idea mom had!  And that 70s orange desk lamp.  I'm pretty tempted to keep that.  Mom did a great job.

So, this weekend FINALLY starts the Covered Bridge Festival.  I wrote two of my first posts, almost 2 years ago about it here and here, and I wrote about my first experience selling at the festival here.  If I weren't leaving for my DUBLIN AND LONDON vacation next week, I would totally set up and sell again.  Oh well, prepping for vacation sounds more fun.

Here's hoping to a good weekend full of garage sale and Covered Bridge Festival goodies.

Full Weekend of Finds

Friday night I had a wonderful dinner with my bf and then he let me go to the Goodwill Outlet.  He also put on gloves and helped me dig for goodies.  Isn't he the best?  You know, he wasn't too keen on the idea of this when we first started dating.  I think the idea is growing on him.  Look what we found:

The bf also joined me for an auction on Saturday morning as well.  He's definitely buying brownie points.  Here's what I got:

I also picked up a table full of old bottles... but they will need a good wash before they are camera ready.

Sunday I went in search of the largest bowl in the white/yellow/black Gooseberry set, as I had seen it at a flea market in the last couple weeks.  I went to pick it up, and of course, it was gone.  However, I picked up lots more Pyrex:

My momma also picked up TONS of goodies for me while garage saleing with her sister on Friday morning.  They luckily stumbled upon a barn sale from a woman who is an antique dealer and has been for years.  I may or may not have time to ever photograph it.  But, I will say, there's lots of Pyrex, Fire King, and Hazel Atlas.

Here's to a good week!
